5 Ways to Spruce Up Your Home for Spring Cleaning
Warmer weather may be on the way soon, and this can get many of us excited about the prospects of cleaning out our spaces.
Yep, we are talking about spring cleaning!
Cleaning (whether it is spring or not) is a pretty important piece in keeping your home up to date, fresh, and clutter-free. It’s a great opportunity to not only make your home cleaner, but also to give it a fresh, spring-like feel. Here are our top five ways to spruce up your home for spring!
It is time to declutter, Marie Kondo style. We recommend going through cabinets, drawers, closets, and deciding what you want to toss, keep, and donate. et aside occasionally used items, like specialty kitchen tools or holiday dishes, for storage elsewhere.
2. Deep Clean
Ready to give your home a deep clean? Wash your trash cans and leave them outside, upside down, to dry. Wash counters, kitchen cabinets (inside and out), drawers and silverware holders with warm soapy water. Use a de-greasing spray on the top and bottom of cabinets and on backsplashes. Carefully wipe handles and knobs. Scrub sinks and faucets and, as with countertops, make sure you use an appropriate cleaner for their material. Remove glass light fixtures for washing and dust all bulbs and ceiling fans.
It may seem like a lot of work, but your home will LOVE you for it.
Your spring cleaning and de-cluttering efforts may all be in vain if you don’t set up ways to keep things organized throughout the rest of the year. From something as simple as a basket or tray to bigger items such as shelves, there are a lot of options that can help you keep things neatly tucked away and in their proper spots. We love using baskets as a way to do this!
4. Get New Wall Decor
Those things on the wall typically get less attention when it comes to cleaning, so your spring cleaning is a great time to take them down and thoroughly dust them off. While you’re doing that, you may consider swapping out what’s currently hanging with something with a bit more spring and summer flair.

5. Replace Your Rug, Pillows, and Throws
As you’re vacuuming and shaking out the dust from items like your rugs and throws, you may find that it’s time to replace them (or at least swap in new ones for the season to give you time to thoroughly clean off the old ones).
